Beehiiv is doubling down on its bid to steal creators from the entrenched newsletter and podcast platforms by cranking out feature after feature. Just weeks after dipping its toes into podcast hosting, the platform unleashed a flurry of upgrades aimed at wooing creators who are tired of the clunky, bloated options from industry incumbents like Substack and Revue. But let’s be clear: piling on features doesn’t automatically translate to winning hearts or minds in this hypercompetitive market.
The company is smart to focus on infrastructure — the kind that actually matters, like better subscription management, deeper analytics, and integrations that don’t make you want to throw your laptop out the window. Yet, this rush to add bells and whistles risks turning Beehiiv into another bloated Frankenstein’s monster, a “10x platform” in name only if the usability and creator experience aren’t genuinely improved.
