We Just Launched 5 Free SEO Audit Tools — Check Your Site in 30 Seconds
Five new free audit tools by ElephantNY: Schema Checker, llms.txt Validator, News Sitemap Validator, AI Visibility Audit, and Google News Readiness Score. No signup. No upsell.
We’ve spent the last seven months running our own five-publication news network — NYC Restaurant Voice, Made in NYC, NYC Business Pulse, NYC Pulse News, and ElephantNY — and along the way we built a stack of audit tools to keep our own sites in shape.
Today we’re releasing the five most useful ones publicly, for free. No signup, no email gate, no upsell loop. You paste a URL, you get a real score.
The 5 tools
1. Schema Checker
Extracts every JSON-LD block on the page, lists the @type entries it found, and flags missing essentials (Organization, WebSite, BreadcrumbList, Article for news pages). Try it: /free-schema-checker-en/
2. llms.txt Validator
Pulls your /llms.txt file and validates it against the AI-crawler spec — H1, blockquote summary, sections, and indexable links. The file ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity actually read. Try it: /free-llms-checker-en/
3. News Sitemap Validator
Fetches your news sitemap (or finds it inside your sitemap index), checks for the Google News namespace, counts publication, publication_date, and title coverage across all entries, and warns if nothing is fresh enough for Top Stories indexing. Try it: /free-news-sitemap-en/
4. AI Visibility Audit
Reads your robots.txt and tells you which of 17 AI and search bots are allowed to crawl: GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, Claude-Web, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, CCBot, Applebot-Extended, and the rest. If you’re invisible to AI search, this is where you find out. Try it: /free-ai-bots-en/
5. Google News Readiness Score
Combine-checks any article URL: NewsArticle schema, headline, datePublished, author, publisher, dedicated news sitemap, Googlebot access, HTTPS. Returns a 0–100 readiness score with the exact gaps to fix. Try it: /free-google-news-en/
Why we built these
Most “SEO checkers” online are content-marketing fronts: long forms, email gates, then they sell you the same checklist on the next page. We needed real-time feedback while shipping schema, sitemaps, and llms.txt files across our own publications. Now you can use the same tooling.
If your audit reveals problems and you want hands-on help, our team handles full schema rollouts, news-sitemap setup, llms.txt authoring, and Google News applications. Talk to us about consulting.
What’s next
We’re working on a few more — Core Web Vitals snapshot, an AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) audit that simulates how ChatGPT/Claude/Perplexity see your page, and a sitemap-coverage diff. If there’s something specific you’d want to see, drop us a line.
